Profile
An experienced Engineering Leader with a background across both B2B and B2C environments, focused on building the systems, culture, and leadership conditions that allow engineering teams to do their best work. I believe strongly in Radical Candor, pragmatic decision-making, and conscientious rule-breaking. In regulated environments, that means respecting the intent of controls while being willing to challenge the process, ownership model, or architecture that has grown up around them. I have done this by working directly with compliance, audit, and regulatory stakeholders to identify what they actually needed, then building delivery paths that preserved assurance while removing unnecessary friction.
My leadership style has developed through formal management roles, mentoring, and volunteer work helping people from non-traditional backgrounds move into technology. As my career has progressed, I have found the most fulfilment in shaping the environment around engineering teams: building trust, developing leaders, creating clarity, improving delivery habits, and preserving healthy team cultures through periods of change or complexity.
I am strongest in environments where engineering has to balance delivery, reliability, commercial pressure, stakeholder expectations, and long-term technical health. The problems I am most interested in solving next are broader engineering leadership problems: improving multi-team delivery, strengthening operational maturity, growing leaders, and helping engineering organisations become more predictable, resilient, and effective without losing the trust and humanity that make teams worth leading.
